Default USb mouse driver problem


hi


after installing automatic update via windows ..my OS fails to recognize my logitech optical mouse ..I've tried reinstalling but it says found driver but failed to install ..i even tried deleting the infcache file in the c:\windows\inf directory .....nothing has worked so far...

I'm running vista ultimate 64 bit sp 1 .on an hp laptop ..i also tried uninstalling the updates that were installed before this happened ..it hasn't worked ..the mouse works fine I've tried using it on my windows xp pc .

please help...

Logitech's driver site:

Download the driver for your product, install, restart. Should work.

i tried downloading logitech setpoint and tried reinstalling ....it didn't work

anyway found a solution to the problem ....
