Sony IDE DVD Writer DW-Q120A issue

I had put this in a IDE box and using as external writer.
I last used it about 4 months back.
Now when I am trying to use it to write its not working, though its reading well. THe IDE box I am using is gemini supplied 5.25 external casing.

I think it may be power issues so going to buy new power adapter for it. But I need if anyone can give me any help for this.
Secondly I wanna know good IDE based DVD writer, because I had tried to put my writer directly into a PC but seems it was working there also.

check ur ritter by attaching it in ur system .....

well actually I dont have any system I had attached it to my friends system.
It was able to read very well but couldnt write properly.

THe casing I bought in Rs 750, and for last 4 months I hadnt used my writer.
Everything works really fine, and I was glad I could write with it at full 16x
