Default 150 feet distance, can i make a LAN? How?

me and my friends house distance is near around 150 feet, we want to make a LAN, is this possible with RJ-45 and CAT-5?? if yes tell me what we need??
if not possible then tell me any other way to make it. if possible tell me also approx. expenses...

AFAIK, the max allowable free lenght of ethernet cable is 100 m (300+ ft)

so it should work without hitch

but my suggestion is to wait for another, confirmed reply

^^ thanks, but AFAIK this is theoritical, is this happen practically?? and do i need any repeaters or something??

nothing extra is needed.. this is a small distance only... just connect directly..

and dont forget to get the PC to PC ethernet cable a.k.a cross-over cable (if connecting PC to PC) or else get the normal cable if you are using a router to connect the PCs...

the network will be good when you have a router... becomes hassle free or else you have to deal with small small problems in directly connecting two PCs over LAN


p.s. an ethernet repeater is needed only for very long distances...
