Default need guide to upgrade ram.please help

hello friends.

well i have a 512mb ddr ram of 160.6mhz.

now if i put another 1gb ram.should its frequency be the same of that of 512mb ram??

well i need some suggestions from you.should i remove the old 512mb and add the new 1gb.
or can i use both simultaniously.

Dude post what mobo do you have 1st.
Your ram speed should be 166 mhz ( aka 166 *2 = 333) Mhz. Check your bios.
So get a new 333 Mhz ram module.

yes cpu-z shows half the speed... so your ram must be 333 Mhz

and the frequency can be same or more... even if you get some ram of more speed.. both will work at 333 mhz only...

btw DDR ram is very rare and will be costly... you will be better buying 2 DDR2 512MB sticks for good speed...
