depends on ur gfx card a little...i have a view sonic 19' with 1440x900 but games sucked on it as i cudn play any games at tat resolution and had to lower it to 1280x768 with my old 8600gts and i hated the monitor....but now i got a 3870x2 and all games an be run at my native res so now i luv the monitor....if ur gfx card can handle it i suggest the 1st option...

Don't go widescreen if you're into games. Some games do not support a widescreen res.

my 8800GTS kinda handles games at 1440x900 res.

i mostly game or watch movies.hav used 3 19" wide with 16:10 aspect b4 using this present 15" normal lcd.now wanna shift to wide again.
just wanted to know if i sud buy 16:9 or 16:10.
i think 16:9 is the normal widescreen standard aint it?

well if u can get a 19" with a better res go for it , else 1400*900 isnt bad at all.all new games run flawlessly..the only thing with this res is u need to manually setup ubuntu for this resolution

No contest, The first one, both are wide screen, the first one has a much higher resolution and will also have a slightly more viewable area.
