Re: Suggest an Wi-Fi router
Just out of curiosity, why do you need a router if you have a desktop, are you gonna use it as a DSL modem or your desktop PC would mostly be mobile?
Neeway I recently bought a Router for my Laptop. It Linksys WRT54G. And I have been using it 24x7 for the past 15 days without any glitch. Configuring it needs some tech know how if it has to be used with existing DSL Modem. Got it for 2100 INR Delhi NP Price as on March 2008.

Re: Suggest an Wi-Fi router
Sam is right. There is no point of a wi-fi router it you don't have a Laptop/PSP/other device that has wi-fi.
+1 for the linksys though.

If net surfing is the only purpose then go for a DSL Modem, router is usually for making a wifi, though it can be used as a DSL Modem or hub/switch as well but why wast money when all you need to do is surf. You dont even have to actually buy a DSL modem, your ISP should provide you with one on rental basis or if you wanna keep it you might buy it as well. It would cost you much less then a Router.
Also D-Link is not know for its quality. After Linksys I'd prefer Netgear......

Re: Suggest an Wi-Fi router
AGP slot is for Graphics cards........
You should have an empty PCI slot.....
Anyways, I'll suggest you to go for a Netgear Wifi PCI card...... http://www.netgear.com/Products/Adap...ers/WG311.aspx
You'll get it for Rs.800~....

Re: Suggest an Wi-Fi router
^^ Man, you'll be definitely having an empty PCI slot.....
Anyways, USB to Wifi cards are also available. But I'm damn sure that you've a PCI slot. Just check your Mobo.
Get this: http://www.netgear.com/Products/Adap...ers/WG111.aspx Its just Rs.100~ expensive than that PCI and actually far better. You can also use it with laptops lacking Wifi.
