Monitor not displaying

Hi,

I have LG 700E CRT monitor and XFX 8600GT Graphics card. I have connected the monitor to Graphics card thro DVI to VGA Adapter.So far it worked good, but suddenly for the past 2 days, it stopped to display anything.

I connected the monitor as secondary to my friends laptop and it displayed well and showed the desktop of the laptop.
When i connect only the adapter to VGA Pin, the monitor shows that "there is no signal".when i attach the monitor wire to the adapter, it stops displaying.

What could be the problem? the monitor or the Graphics card? how can I test that?

I have installed Windows XP SP3 RC last week.Will that cause some problem?

so you mean, you are not able to get display from onboard graphics as well. Remove the gfx card and connect to vga port of the mobo, if display comes up, then there is no prob with ur mobo and monitor, but maybe some prob with the new gfx card.
