Default They say my ADSL LINK has some problem....

BSNL BROADBAND. They came and installed it one week ago. I used it tht day and by night the connection lost... IT NEVER CAME BACK AGAIN i called them. After a 100 calls they picked up the phone... and i told them my problem but they werenot able to give a satisfactory reply... i said tht the DSL light on the MODEM is blinking continuously... The only thing they said is tht THE DSL LIGHT should glow continuously and I had the problem with my ADSL LINK... i wanna ask... HOW?? WHERE THE PROBLEM IS? MY PHONE WORKS FINE..? IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO WITHOUT WAITING FOR THOSE DUMBOS?

Are you using dedicated phone line for the modem? First, try disconnecting all the phones & connect ONLY the modem. See if the light comes on.

Otherwise check your DSL Modulation Options in the modem.

BSNL normally provide UTSTAR Modem(DSL) and in the modem there are 5 LED 1) power 2) DSL/ADSL 3) Internet 4) Ethernet/LAN 5)USB
Now switching on the System as well as the modem the no 1)power LED will glow if the DSL/ADSL line is OK after 2 mnts it will glow constantly and the other two LED ethernt and internet will blink when you connected to the net. If not connected to the net the ethernet LED glows constantly and the internet LED is off.

Now check what is in your case. If on successful connection to BSNL server you cannot open web page it might be causing due to firewall setting.

Also sometime I found On successfull connection to BSNL server the web page not opening, on enquiry from BSNL they told me that ther is some problem whith ther server. After a few mnts/hour it is allright.

fower failur at my end. see u again

The link is blinking continuously because BSNL has changed the DSL syncing mode and your modem might be forcing another.
It can also be that the phone line has acquired noise.

I hope you know the nos for BSNL Customer Care, also check with the JTO of the Telephone Exchange near you giving you the connection, ask them to send someone to check your ADSL router.

Most probably its inital problem they wouldnt have configured it properly, same thing had happened to me after 2 days it had stopped working, then I had called up about a week or 10 days later and they had checked on their side. It became fine. BTW what is the router's login n pass set for you, those guys didnt gave me, so I cannot check my router on my own. have alwas to restart it manually power on/off
