My pen drive doesnot work

my pen drive was transcend jf v30 1gb. when ever i connect that 1 with pc after that as usual (plang) sound nothing happend. when i chack the device manager it shows error 10. i checked it in my friends (vista loaded) labtop but here also same problem. i am using ms xp sp2.

^^ if its a new flash drive then better get a replacement bcoz that might be hardware issue.....

Its failed most likely. There might be a recovery/format tool on the CD which came with it but I doubt if it would do any good.

You may try that and if of no use, throw this one and get a new higher-capacity and faster Pen-Drive. They come very cheap these days.

i have downloaded a format tool from their site but it didnt solve my provlem.

It is not clear whether the pen drive detected by your system ? What I think connect the pen drive in the port, shut down your system and then restart, go to My Computer icon>right click on it> click on manage> expand storage>click disk management. Now look whether the removable drive is detected by your system if yes format it with FAT/FAT32. Now it will be ready for work.
If it is not detected by the system, I think it is "DEAD".
