Airtel Internet connection in 2 sys

hi guys, i have a new Airtel Internet Connection (384kbps).....

the problem is...........i have 2 sys and i want to use it in both sys.......

what does it require to split the connection in 2?
Can i use ordinary HUB or ROUTER? And how much it costs?
Airtel dnt provide either HUB or ROUTER....the give only MODEM....

My system has both ONBOARD LAN....... And both using XP Pro......

Location is BANGALORE

Pliz give me the connection method in details ( i,e. STEP by STEP )

P.S: I search the forum about this thread and i couldnt find what i want so i created this new thread.....

u need a router and a switch

1.0 router zyxel wil do
2.0 for switch go for local 8 port 10/100 fast ehetnet switch which u will get it in SP road

ask airtel people to get the zyxel router and configure it (they will charge but if u know how to login to the router u can get it from loacl shop)

You need:
1) Hub/ switch or modem with more than 1 LAN port.
2) LAN cables, all straigh climped.
3) LAN port on all system.

Airtel dnt provide either HUB or ROUTER....the give only MODEM....

All modem provided by Airtel are modem cum router. You can take BX440 modem, with this you dont need to buy any hub/switch/ router

if i split with router/hub, how much will be the speed on 1 sys??
( i guess 192kbps, coz 384/2=192 )

can i set the speed so that 1 sys can get 70% and other 30%??

You can easily get a 5 port switch costs 400-500,

and speed doesnt gets divided like that, its for data packets going out, so if one system is not opening anything from internet other will show more speed.
Airtel has got good speed, I check download 43KBps for 256KBps. really good
