Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 ghz, 2 GB Ram, 160 GB hard disk - Purchased Today
I get this error while installing Win XP

I bought the new system today[not second hand],is an assembled one.  My friend tried everyhting except 6 & 4. How to do 6 ? Also someone help me with this problem.

Ah the evergreen BSOD issue.Check your RAM or the HDD.Either one of them must be the culprit here.Try using single RAM stick & check with each one.

I had the same problem at first.
I set the hard disc as the master using the jumper and tried installing XP from another CD.And it worked!

Check the RAM modules. Try plugging in different DIMM slots and set BIOS to optimized. And as its assembled, make sure everything is inserted and installed properly on mainboard. Basic thing, but it helps often!

those jumpers were with pata hdds afaik.
its not a psu issue-must be a ram\video card problem.
give ur config details
