Unhappy Unexpected reboot after changing the RAM

Dear friends,
I replaced faulty RAM 512MB DDR2@533 to 1GB DDR2@667. But the system reboots unexpectedly. Is this a reason for the problem or something else? Plz help!

It has only one module ie 1GB DDR2 @667. The system reboots while using any application Firefox/Wordprocessor/PageMaker etc after 10-15 min or more. Once it reboot just after login screen. I noticed it once reboot when it was even idle.

Looks like RAM is faulty.
Use Memory Test(Present on most linux cd's , like Ubuntu).

I don't think its a problem of new RAM. otherwise it can hang down in boot process or even can't boot sometimes...

May be the slot is loose?

Just remove and re-attach your RAM.
And check your PC for any virus or spyware things...

Thanks everyone for helping me. I restored my system with a previously dump image file. However the system did not reboot for last an hour.

But please tell me whether the RAM frequency may be an issue? My mobo supports 533 or 400 MHz. Is 667 right for my system.

This thing is to be checked before you got new RAM slot yaar
