Default RAM Confusion

hi friends...
i m planning to go for a ram upgrade.....my mobo is intel 865gbf....i ve got 256mb of ram....something like 400mhz ddr.....i checkd the prices and 1gb 400 mhz ddr1 is pretty costly....
but ddr2 1gb(pc5300) is relatively cheper. . .
can my mobo support those rams?
plzz suggest some good 1gb ram for my mobo

nup, ur mobo dun support DDR2 modules. U shud stick to DDR modules.
I think DDR400 512MB is for less than 1k.

un upgrade shud do the work. Im recomending it coz, there's no point in getting DDR memory nowadays at much higher price than current DDR2.

For instance u can have twice as gud system for less than 10k nowadays. So better upgrade mobo, ram and proccy and get DDR2 1~2GB.
