is it overclocked?
i think its got some trouble with the ram or power supply.most likely its the ram.try changing the ram.i think u'll get instant replacement since its a new system though that depends on ur vendor.

Power Supply seems the most probable culprit. RAM mebbe the other. Measly iBall 400W PSU for that system?!!!

Not overclocked.
RAM test works normally, no errors.
SMPS of 400w not sufficient?

1) Test RAM with memtest86.
2) Plug in another spare supply and then test.

Quad core system, 2gb ram, dg33, 2 hard disks, 1 optical drive and only 400w smps that too iball etc.? their efficiencies are quite low. So you do not actually get full 400w outta it.

change the PSU and try changing the ram.not putting it in another slot but replacing it with some other ram.may i know the +12v current written on the sticker of your PSU? it would be something like +12V 20A..

Get atleast 500W colorsit or other reputed brand. If it is printed 500W then the real throughout put should be 400W. I wrote a thread long before about how to calculate full output.

Which PSU comes in 'good' category? The only ones available here are Intex, Frontech(Even these are chinese ) & other unknown Chinese crap. iBall is a scarce thing here. They are available but those dealers are robbers

How do you calculate the required power for a system?

I've this config:

Asus M2NPV-MX
AMD 64 X2 3800+ Windsor 90nm
512*2 Kingston 667 Value RAM
DVD Writer
CD Writer
1 PATA 40GB HDD
1 SATA 160 GB
3 fans

I've Intex 400W PSU. Couldn't find anything better. I know its not even 400W So what should be the PSU wattage in my case & which PSU manufacturer you recommend?

P.S.- It is not OCed & I rarely play games.

Quad core isnt a problem for sure!! have been using it for 2 months now without any hassles.
1st cause of BSOD's is virus, then maybe pirated OS,RAM issues and if none above then SMPS should be dumped.
I suffered such BSOD's on my P-rated Vista and got such bsod's even after reinstalling a dozen times.
I think u r using a P-rated OS.(no offence meant) just try installing linux on ur pc and then try

Tested with MemTest-86 v3.4. All tests are passed except following

Test 6 [Moving inversions, 32 bit pat] - Lot of error, hanging
Test 7 [Random number sequence] - Errors 130.
---------------------------------------------
I purchased it some 20 days back, first day onwards problem is there.

SMPS written 12V 17A

Whether the Memory is the real culprit?
-------------------------------------
Details about this error @ http://www.memtest86.com/tech.html

Did you run memtest86 with 2GB plugged or with single 1GB sticks one by one? Unplug any one of the sticks and then repeat the same accordingly. And even if the errors continue to appear, then yes ur RAM is faulty. Get it changed. One more thing, CoolerMaster Extreme series PSU 300W or 400W would be suitable for ur pc. The CM 300W PSU price tag is around 1200 bucks.

Powersupply man. change the power supply(SMPS).. 400 W IBall will deliver a maximim of 300W only.. So it's not efficient enough to work with Quad cores buddy..

4 Cores need more power..

More Power needs a better PSU.. go for a 500W or 600W Cooer Master .. coller Master Extreme 500W will cost 2850/- @ www.primeabgb.com

it's good to heard that your problem had solved. But pal do change the psu to atlest 500W one . Look for brands like antec, corsair, coolermaster, transcend. It's important for your proc and should give you better room for future upgrade like a gfx card for gaming -as g33 core is not very good for gaming.

Cool Re: Quad Core System CRASHING HELP HELP !!!

The PSU is the culprit.. Change it immediately before it does some serious damage to your system. in my opinion get yourself Cooler Master Extreme Power 600W costs within Rs. 4000. its gives value for money and performance, i don't know the price exactly its good and powerful enough to provide juice for your setup.
