but will teh swiss format work in india??
will the games run that ill buy from here???

Consoles are mostly region free now days so buying an original PS3 game should not pose any problem for you unless it is too expensive!

But hey i have heard that PS3 game has been backed up on HDD!

ps3 games are region free.. ie all Blu ray discs are region free, but this is not true for the xbox 360 cause if you buy it from outside india the games that you buy in india are PAL and will not work in it.

PS3 Blu-Ray games are region free although not the Blu-Ray movies.Some of the movies are region coded so if you are looking only to play games then get it without any hitch.
