Default buy hdd...


I want to buy a hdd. I want to install *leopard* on it Which hdd should i opt for ?? sata-2 or ide (7200rpm)?? Which will give better performance and zero problems on installing leopard...

I dont know bout installing "leopard". But Sata is better than IDE

The best brand of HDD which i like is Seagate

ide is better in my personal experiance if at all ur gonna buy sata,get a perpendicular recording type.

as of now i havent tried installing Leopard on my pc but hav installed OS X and i wanna tell u that OS X will install perfectly on IDE hdd but wont boot from it.
u need a sata hdd for installing and running OS X.

@hellgate: so i hv to go for sata2 only to be able to install and run osx (leopard) ??

Sata 2 is the best option .ide is phased out.evn odd comes in sata these days due to this reason

^^^ if u wanna install in a pata hdd then u'll hafta install thru VMWare though u may not get audio and lan support.

Motherboard - AsusTek M2N-MX for AMD AM2.
