Cool Need P.S.U

I'm going to buy a new PSU. My current one is of 230W and my config is given below. tell me what rating PSU would be optimum for my rig and which company should I go for, price too if possible. Place I'll be shoping from is Nehru place.

Intel Core2Duo E6300
Asus P5LD2-VM SE (945Mobo)
Kingston 2x1GB DDR2 667Mhz
Seagate ST3400620AS Sata HDD 400GB
Asus EN7600GT 256MB DDR3 with SM 3.0
Samsung SH-S203 DVD Writer

I think that's all what my PSU provides power to, so help me out guys, Agent 001.

A 450-500W PSU should be enough for your rig

i would advise a 600W coolermaster for around 3600..to have more headrooms...if in future you add more components then you require more power...

i wouldnt recommend Zebronics PSU.

i have Zebronics 400W PSU, man is it noisy.

dunno how's 500W pure platinum, but all Zebronics lack quality & performance.

this 400W PSU of mine is fluctuating voltage a bit.

Zebronics platinum series is totally different from the 400 bucks basic ones.
The 500W Platinum has 120MM LED fan is too quite nd does its job well.
It easily handles my power hungry 4200+ 939 oc manchester along with 7600GT oc nd trie 4 HDDS nd 3 ODDS and have 8 extra 80mm fans. And i also charge my phone thru USB at this load.

If u're in delhi or around, get the Amigo 450W PSU, costing around 1.8k, I have tested those PSU's well, and it will serve u well even if u decide on adding an 8800GTS or such to ur machine, or a couple HDD's / DVDRW maybe.

If in kolkata or around, get colorsit golden 450W psu, costing around 1300/- this will be enough for ur needs. (there is other colorsit psu's available around, so make sure u get the right one, price is one indicator, color of PSU is another, it's dual fan, and well packaged)

U can get an idea bout their quality by theiw weights...heavier onew will proably better big bigger transformers nd huge heatsinks. And so will be tha high power capacitor. Buch better quality nd bigger in gud PSUs.

Hey, for that I'd recommend Cooler Master 390w PSU for just rs 1950 only, its more than enough to handle that rig, or you can opt for cooler master 450w for 3200

zebronics platinum series...will never forget this name...
two days back i bought a piece(500w platinum) from a vendor..
after connecting and everything set..i find my system to be restarting after every 2mins atleast..returned the box yesterday to get a replacement..

but this time it went beyond miserable state...like on/off switch the power just fluctuated and system never got powered up.

Today i went again...after saying big goodbye to the so called zebronics platinum smps , got a coolermaster 390w smps paying 600 bucks mor..

that tells the story..how good is zebronic platinum smps are..

same problem with me but with 4 month older zebronics PSU
my pc keeps restarting after 15-20 minutes.
now i have switched to coolermaster & everything works fine even my pc is 24x7 on.
the big difference betn zebronics & cooler master psu i observed, in coolermaster 12v rail is extremely stable but in zeb psu 12v drops down to 11.7 or somthing.

my advice is to go for coolermaster if you dont afford it look for VIP or powersafe

gets too technical..IMO choosing zebronics smps like rolling dice..you have to be lucky enough to get a proper smps from zebro brand...
always true..more price - more reliable
& dont get into the hands of cheaper ones and later suffer
