Default HDD


Guys I have asus M2N MX SE Motherbuord and I want a new HDD....which one should I go for I checked and seems segate 320 Gb does the job but I need to know if My Mobo supports SATA2.

AFAIK your motherboard will support SATA.
Get a Seagate HDD which should cost around 3600.

Does hitachi have any problems? I ask this bcs Seagate cost is a bit high at my place like 4K and hitachi is arnd 3.5K.........thnx nvidia8800

Hitachi is also gud. But seagate is the one which have highest sale due to easy availability nd faster service.
And M2N MX supports SATA II.
And both of em has 5 yrs warranty.

hey man wait, try Western Digital .It hav d same price of Hitachi and performs better than Seagate or Hitachi

M2n mx supports sata-2 and western digital performs better and is also way too silent.just make sure the one u get has 16mb buffer

ya, perpendicular recordng starts from 320GB HDD models and upwards.

I just bought a WD 320G HDD, 16M buffer for 3.6k.(Sata 3.0).

Yup, that model is perpendicular one. And thanks GOD, u dun get WD.
They have many problems nowadays.
And bout performance all of them performs more or less same which have same specs like rpm,buffer etc. All all models are now ncq supported also.

And seagate HDDs are gud.
