Default Doesn't boot after RAM upgrade

After installing additional RAM into my P3 machine, it stops functioning.

Processor fan spins as normal. Power supply seems to get into the board. But there is no POST message or display all the time. I am confused on seeing the different ways it responds each time I switch on after reinstalling RAM.

1) 3 short beeps (some times no beeps)
2) Power Led on the front panel works some times and other times not.
3) Diagnostic LEDs on the back also behaves the same way.

I've tried something to fix this but none of these are successful.
1) Resetting CMOS
2) Used high WATT SMPS.
3) Different working memory sticks.

Is this an indication of memory slot damage or motherboard/processor failure?

Thanks in advance.

Your motherboard may not be supporting that RAM..or that RAM chip may be faulty.

Does your system work perfect with old RAM set???

It has 3 memory slots. The middle one didn't work from the beginning itself. The other 2 slots were used for 128MB and 256MB sticks. I've removed the
128MB stick, placed the new 256MB stick of same speed (PC133) and then the problem started.

Even the old RAM sets are not working now.

Thanks for your suggestion though.

I tried that too. I completely disassembled the motherboard parts, clean them up and put it back. No success!

Thanks. I tried your suggestion today. It gives 3 beeps some times and the other times no beeps.

I was told my friend that it could be the result of damaged memory slot.

I also suspect processor or mother board problems. Can anyone point me to the right direction?

FSB of RAM isn't supported by your mobo. This is what happened with me when the vendor gave me 336 Mhz SD RAM but my mobo is for 133 Mhz only.

oh man. there is a speed written on the RAM. it was around some 300+ Mhz. So it did not work. BIOS gave me 3 beeps and no booting. But when i replaced it with 133 Mhz, it worked.

I verified that my motherboard supports both PC100 and PC133. But it doesn't boot even if I remove the new PC133 RAM stick.
