Sud i buy this lappy?

my frnd is thinking of buying a 2nd hand lappy which our vendor is offering for 13k.
its a 14mnths old Acer lappy with the following config:

Intel Celeron M 1.60GHz
256MB DDR ram
40GB HDD
IEEE 802.11b/g WLAN
15.4" display
Pioneer DVD-R/W
4 USB ports
1 10/100mbps ethernet port

the pnly prob with this lappy is that the display has 1 row and 1 column of dead pixels.

so wud it be wise to buy this lappy??
plz suggest.

my frnd is a bit inclined 2wards this config cuz he'll use the lappy only for surfing,reading e-books and maybe watch a few movies thats all.
he already owns a good rig.
