Unhappy Mouse Problem!!!

I have a problem with my mouse....as its is 3 years old.....

When I left click (one click) on any icon or program it gets opened....
I think it has become too sensitive to touch...

And if I double-click two instances of the program gets opened
(so annoying)

I have checked the clicking settings everything was fine....

Pls help.....its a hardware problem I think so....

Goto Folder options and see if "Single click to open an item" is checked or not.
If its enabled, then disable it.

if ur mouse is one of those older ones with a roller ball in it, i suggest dat u clean that compartment where d ball is placed

there will b 3 rollers in that compartment, clean it gently using a moistened cotton bud

and clean d ball by keeping it dippped in mild detergent solution for sometime and den wash it and dry it thoroughyl

i got a 8-yr old 3-button serial port mouse that i often use without problem
just do wat i described above

8 Years and still going strong ??? amazing...

I just changed my 3 years old optical mouse with a new one . Old one was now giving me issues with right clicking.
