Problem writing DVD -R

Hi


I have a sony DVD writer which I bought 6 months back,

And the problem is when ever I'm trying to write data in DvD's labeled DVD -R The drive is writing 1-3 % and after that it is showing a Error message cannot Write the Data, I've tried using various DVD brands but the result is same.

I've also tried changing the nero software installed various versions of nero.


Help me out!!

Seems like its time to utilize its warranty.
But before that clean the lens of the drive and check the connections to the drive!

pls also chek u r using the correct options ... as once it happened with me that in drop down menu on selecting device with which to burn i had my cd burner burning dvd... lol i know its foolish but it may happen and all the time i kept blaming that my dvd burner only burnt CDs... lol

Don't I have any other option instead of replacing

try using the lense cleaner as kyos has said. if it still gives a problem. then there's no option
