Re: Suggest a gud CPU within 15k.
Just today i got myself a new machine, AMD X2 5600+, ASUS M2N-VM HDMI, Transcend 2Gb 800MHz RAM, LG 20x DVD Writer, Hitachi 160GB Sata II HD, VIP 820 Cabinet. All in 17K, You can possibly save 1K on the Proc by going for 5200 and 1K on a lower spec MB.
If you want to compare the benchmarks of various Intel and AMD Cpus, you could refer these excellant year end reviews by Tom's Hardware
And for the prices, you can refer TheITWares. The prices in your area may differ by a 100 200 rs plus minus.

Re: Suggest a gud CPU within 15k.
I would not suggest LiteOn. If any problem, you will have to send it to Mumbai and it will take 15 days.
I just saw you are from pune, even i am from pune. I know the Computer World guy on Karve road. If you want, i would get you a nice deal there, and ya, no hidden incentives for me except a machine from his shop from my friend
My MoBo was 4.5K.

Yeah u are right!
Always keep in mind about the warranty and service center especially for ROMs and Writers because they get errors easily!

Re: Suggest a gud CPU within 15k.
Yeah 5600+ is great processor for non-overclockers!
Keep in mind that u only buy those 65 watt brisbane core!
Those are less power hungry!

Hey no probs, congrats on the new machine.
Just one downside The onboard GFX card aint too great!! I am playing C&C - Generals, it plays all well.
All the new games lag a bit, and you cannot run them on high quality GFX settings. If you are into games a lot, i suggest you get yourself a dedicated GFX card.
You got the same cabinet? I added 3 additional fans to it

No ive got d same system as u except the cab....
As far as the graphics card is concerned,, it wil b okay 4 me coz i dont play much games on mah pc...i do hav an x360 for that... the only thing i expected
this machine to do well was at 3D softwares like 3ds max, inventor, and sum
engineering related ones like PRO-E, CATIA.....and to my surprise,, it blowed
them all wit no frills....!!!!!!
Hav u got any new driver for the mobo and the processor?...ive installed amd-dual core optimiser.

Are you using XP? I have Vista so maybe drivers and softwares would be different. Vista does not need (or has) the DUal Core Optimiser from AMD. As for the drivers, i used the Cd's drivers for the Mobo and downloaded the Latest GFX drivers from nVidia.com
