External DVD Writer Recommendations

hi,
I have an hp pavilion dv2119tx laptop (vista home premium, 1gb ram, 256 mb geforce go 7200, 1.6ghz core 2 duo).Lately, my dvd drive (sony dvd-rw dw-g521a) is writing cd's well, reading cd's well, reading original and retail dvd's well, but not able to read or write any dvd-r's, when a dvd-r is inserted, it used to keep reading it, and after 15-20 minutes, if i burnt anything, it gave power calibration error (in nero and cdburnerxp). Now, i have set vista to do nothing when a dvd is inserted, so now, nero says no disc found....so, i have cleaned the drive using video instructions at videojug, lens cleaner dvd used, drive unistalled in device manager , but to no help....so i'm planning to buy an external dvd writer for my laptop, can u guys pls recommend one, pleez???
