Intel 965wh Audio : Sigmatel - Problem

The problem is, that in some games like GTA SA & Colin McRae 05 (CMR05), some sound dont play , e.g. in GTA SA - there's no car sound, no sound of gun shot of the player... & in CMR05, the car's sound is very low, while the background sounds (ambient sounds, birds, crowd cheering, co-driver's) play. & when the car's direction changes, for a moment i can hear the car sound.

[its a h/w problem, as the games are original]

i opened dxdiag & ran audio test.

this is the result.



Your Sound card does not support Hardware buffering

some times i dont have this problem, when the game's run on compatibilty mode (win 2000), they'll play all sounds, but now i'm again getting this problem.

I re-installed the Audio Driver.

ver. - 5.10.5258_MSXP_W_IAS_HDFP

Newer version didnt solve the problem, as it lacked Intel Audio Studio, so i'm using this old one.

i've Tune-Up Utilies 2008 & CCleaner, the system's clean.

Yesterday i installed AutoPatcher May 2007 edition, thinking Windows updates may resolve this problem. it dint.

HEHE! I had the same issue.Perhaps this might help.

Go to Start--->Control Pannel---->Sounds & Multimedia---->Advanced & switch the sound from 7.1 Wide configuration to 2.1 Stereo Desktop speakers mode.If the sound is already set to Desktop stereo speakers then not too sure of the issue.

This happened to me initially when I got my new board & my .mp3 files would lag & also Lost Planet would mute out the speech sounds & gunshots.
