Red face dvd region setting

is there any way to unlock the region settings on an LG gsa h10n dvd writer?
somehow it got set to r1 (before it was unset).so is there a way to revert it back to "region not set"?

also, does a dvd burnt (with nero) on an r1 dvd writer have problems being read on non-r1 dvd players?(standalone players not dvd drives).i wrote a movie on nero without using dvd video mode
before the region was changed .it worked decently.but now im unable to play data disc wrote in dvd video format(ie on the start its given data dvd but its written in dvd-style with both videots and audiots folders)
thnx in advance.

Best way to tackle this issue is not to use Power DVD or other software for playing DVDs. Use VLC Player.
