i am able to write cd properly with no probs. i use two dvd-rw 1. LiteON LH-20a1p 2. sony dvdrw awg170a both of them are not able to write DVD and burn process fails. what's wrong they are not even an year old, though it's been 1 month I hav'nt used them much and now when i need them they are not working. this is definitely a hardware problem. please help using winxp sp2 c2d e6300 processor g965 mobo ASUS 1gb ram @667MHz Last edited by Gaurav; 27-12-2007 at 09:58 PM. |

1) Check the data cords (IDE/SATA cables), replace if necessary and test.
2) Check power connectors 3) Use a different software 4) Boot into a second OS, if you haf OR Use a Linux Live CD and try burning in from there 5) Try changing the media 6) Check in device manager for settings related to IDE/SATA Controller and DVD RW Drives for any problems/changes.

windows burning software does'nt work either.
checked power connectors and everything i could, even updated the firmware. did'nt helped. what's wrong... even if i purchase a new one what's the guarantee that the new one won't have the same prob,. |

^^^ none of the software works? Then try booting into a linux live CD/DVD and try burning from there. It seems the imapi service in windows is not loading or there is some problem with the burning engine. Check control panel > admin tools > services and check if there is any error when launching the IMAPI service.
