Default Changing CPU


Hi guys ,
I just wanted to know wid the release of intel's quad core CPU at a cost as low as 11000 that can i just change the dual core processor on my motherboard with a quad core one...without having to change my motherboard...

Give your motherboard details as well.

Most 945/946 series and 965 ones do support Quad CPUs. Below these models, none do.

actually i m buying a pc from dell....and they dont tell u the mboard model on net...
so i cant telll..
but both dual core and quad core are pinless processors so y cant the older ones which support dual core cant support quad cores

Download CPU-Z and check your motherboard

Go for those computers of dell which has c2d e4300 or above processors bundled with them.

I don think any branded pc wil have a dual core proccy mounted on a quad core supporting mobo
