Portable hard drive not workin

Today I purchase one 80 GB Hitachi, 2.5" portable hard drive. when I connect to my system....althou it recognizes it...but new drive does not appear inside My Computers ....Pls help me out in this !!!!

thats easy yaar!! u just have to format it and make partitions like u do with a normal hdd
after u have plugged in ur portable hard drive..right click my computer->manage
then under storage select disk managment.u shud be able to see ur new drive in here
