Exclamation Movies in LCD Monitor

My System configuration:

Q6600,Transcend 2*1024 667Mhz
Seagate 250GB SATA II HDD
XFX 650i Ultra MB
XFX 7300GT Video Card
Viewsonic 19" LCD Monitor

Right from the beginning, everything is perfect about the display except watching movies. When movies are played, it is very dark and the colors are a bit over saturated. But when playing games, its been a candy display.

Does anybody have any clue abt what might be the problem

I havent modified any colour settings in the players..
but I have installed K-lite codecs and Divx codecs for viewing the movies.

But regardless of the movie format, all the movies suffer in display...

Are the settings of the LCD done properly? The default settings when you buy a LCD are almost always non optimal, like excessive contrast, brightness etc.

Even if I change the brighness/contrast, the video seems to have brightened, but the colors are not appropriate.

Also, the display is normal except when viewing videos suggesting the display controls are at proper levels...
