Default hdd headache after upgrade.


guys i upgraded my mobo an proccy to c2d and intel 945.
i have an pata hdd connected to it.the hdd in win xp often makes a sound and stops responding.os hangs.
should i do a bios update????
hdd is workin good with no probs.

have U done fresh installation of XP after upgradation.

hdd is workin good with no probs.
i had similar problem

in my case this was a power cable problem,
switching power cables did the trick

hdd made a teeeet noise n then stoped responding
