DVD writer is not burning cd's

Hey guys..
I bought a Sony DVD writer abt 7 months ago...
Of late m havin a prob wit it... My writer gives some "session error" when i try to burn a CD..... But it works totally fine when burning a DVD...
Does anyone know wht cud be the possible problem..????!!!!

Clean the lens properly,try a different brand cd,burn at a lower speed and if it doesn't help,take it to the service centre before warranty expires.
