unclear sound

i recently bought an altec lansing ATP3 speaker system.i am using an intex soundcard(300 bucks) .however the sound is not very clear.there is quite a lot of disturbance.but when i coonect my speakers to my mp3 player,theres no problem.so should i change my soundcard.if so which soundcard should i buy.(a low end)

I probably think that the Hiss sound or disturbance is mostly due to the cheap soundcard.

I suggest you to go for any of the following soundcards depending on your budget.

(Prices in Bangalore -> may be +/- 200/300 bucks)
Creative 5.1 - Rs. 1060
Creative 7.1 Audigy - Rs. 1600

My recommendation is to go for the Creative 7.1 Audigy which would be future-proof if you wanted to go for 5.1/7.1 speakers later.

As for the Creative soundcards, no questions about their quality.

1) Try your speaker on other desktop.
2) Try any other speaker on your system.

Now find yourself..where is the problem.
