Default Temperature Levels for my 8500GT

When i open Nvidia access manager to view my graphics card temperature, i always find it around 70 when idle.. One of my friends told that it is not a good sign..

I have XFX nvidia 8500GT graphics card.. and it is shipped with a small heat sink.. i didnot install any other cooling system for that..

Please suggest me the solution..

70 Degrees Idle is kinda high. Case is ventilated enough?

one side of the case is always kept open..
i have installed a LAN card in the PCI slot which stays almost 1 inch away from the graphics card.. is that the reason why my idle temperatures are high??

no... is your card XFX ? oh yeah.. thats the reason.. don't know why but XFX cards generally heat up more... though i havent witnessed as 8500 GT heating up..

Buy a Rs. 75 Chassis Fan. That can help you lower down the temp a bit. Fix it in a manner that it will blow exactly on Gfx card.
