Default Help needed. Things needed to connect SATA HDD to...

Hi guys, I am buying a SATA2 Seagate 7200.10 250Gb 16Mb buffer HDD.

However,
my Motherboard is old
(Id:P4M266A-8235-6A6LWPRDC-00)( 02/13/2003)
meant for P4 (u478socket)
and
VIA chipset
North Bridge VIA VT8751(A) ProSavageDDR P4M266(A)
South Bridge VIA VT8233/8235
and
BIOS
Award BIOS Type hoenix-Award BIOS v6.00PG
System BIOS Date :02/13/03

As upgrading aint hapenning soon,
I have decided to go for a PCI SATA adapter.

Wouldnt i still require SATA power connectors ?
So, my present PSU will need replacement(it has no sata power connectors), isnt it ?

Also, does my BIOS need to be updated to make SATA compatible ?

yes thats tru. but i feel the ATA ones will become obsolete very soon.

since upgrading entirely is tough for me and my need for more storage space is immediate, i am going for sata. may be within 2-3 years i might get a new pc. so this one will sitll be compatible with the new pc.
