Default Motherboard upgrade

I have a asrock 775 dual 915gl motherboard. I want to upgrade my motherboard so i can get a new pcie card and upgrade the ram to ddr2. As i will buy the graphics card after sometime as i am into gaming so please suggest me the motherboard according to the gaming requirement. Please tell the best value for money board, As i am somewhat tight on budget. I don't have some specific budget but i want it to be cheap like 3-5k. My processor is socket LGA775. Its a p4 3.0ghz.

go for a 965G based motherboard...or 965P or 650i ultra if you plan on buying a graphics card now only...becos 965P and 650i ultra dont have onboard video.

How much they cost?

And how much is the performance difference between 965P,965G and xfx 650i ultra? And which is better? Biostar 7050 or p35? Thanks in advance

the motherboards that i suggested, 965P,965G and xfx 650i ultra are within 5-6 k range...and really if u cant buy a p35/G33/680i mobo, then these are decent offerings.

dude these are the minimum i suggest. vendors will surely tell u to go for 946 boards which is below 4k..but dont buy it..

remember 965P and 650i ultra dont have onboard video.
965G has onboard video.

Ok. XFX 650i ultra. Does it support LGA 775 i.i can it take p4? And will it give good gaming performance?
I am looking to build this pc.
p4 3.0 ghz HT
2 GB DDR2 667 Mhz RAM
80 GB Seagate Barracuda HD
XFX 650i ultra
XFX GeForce 8800GT.
Will this be able to run crysis at max on 1024x768? No AA or some AF?

well for the time being you may do with your P4 but then as pathiks said it will be giggest bottleneck and within few months youd have to go for a new processor..

but to play crisis at that settings will be okay because CPU does not play really important role in GFX.. though i think that the AI wont be as good because it needs better physics processing which is handled by the CPU.. and crysis AFAIK wont be enjoyable at anything lower than the hardest level...

anyways enjoy... but with that config be prepared for a proccy upgrade soon ...

BTW 650i Ultra won't support new 45 nm range isnt it?...

If 650 i does not support 45 nm quad cores then PLEASE go for Biostar P35 as it will be a great VFM 45 nm mobo solution...

hey i wanna ask 1 question..

when i purchased my current mobo, the asus webpage and the manual didnt say that my mobo supports 45nm procccys...but now when i open the website it says that P5N32 E SLi supports 45nm proccys...

does it mean that my mobo will also support 45nm proccys???

@zeest i dont think that the 650i ultra wud be a problem for some time atleast...becos it supports quad core proccy also. although the P35 is the latest chipset with support for DDR3...so its upto u..
