Default Two Sound Cards - Possible! Help!

i have onboard 5.1 channel audio and all are connected to 5.1 speakers. now i need to install a tv tuner card which needs a AUDIO-IN socket. so im planning to get a new sound card. because my mobo (Intel 945GCL) does not have any aux input.

my question is can i use the onboard 5.1 for my gaming and dvd and the additional soundcard for watching tv WITHOUT CHANGING THE AUDIO PROPERTIES IN CONTROL PANEL each and every time.

i.e. i want 5.1 as the default for windows sounds, gaming, dvd etc.. and the soundcard as the default for tv tuner card (Leadtek winfast).

Default Re: Two Sound Cards - Possible! Help!

Yes, you can use your new sound card only for watching TV, if your TV Tuner Software supports that facility. If not, you can try Chris TV which allows you to choose the sound card.

And why you need another sound card? Are you using the Composite In instead of Co-ox? Won't your TV card has an audio renderer?
