please, TV tuner query!! its urgent...

Hello guys im in great hurry, just placed the order for

"Pinnacle PCTV pro PCI" which is the Pinnacle TV tuner kit for Windows Vista.

i wanted to know wether this works with my Present Winodws XP Service Pack 2 or not.

Does it have XP drivers too??
Does it some with a media center for XP ??

Otherwise i am doomed,

please guys urgent hel needed...

I think every TV tuner card that is compatible with Vista is compatible with XP too.
BTW how much you paid for it?

in INDIA CATV transmission is in PAL-B standard.

no u wont get any PAL to NTSC converters off shelf here easily

it would have been better if u might have ordered a universal tuner like winfast 2000xp global...btw it retails for rs 2500 here...

contacted pinnacle support today,
they said that pinnacle does sell different versions around the globe...

ahh... my money, all wasted.!!!

^^^ Dude, you still santusht with Cable? Thoda aur wish karo, Dish karo

Anyways.. if you get an STB with a connection like Dish or Tata, you can use the SVideo in to watch or record your stuff.. the Svideo has nothing to do with PAL or NTSC.. it's only the analog tuner.. So get yourself Dish or Tata... otherwise there is really no use in having a TV tuner on a computer coz the quality will be pathetic

I've used several TV tuners with both cable and STB and I can tell you that it's only really worth it if you have an STB. And also you're lucky if you get a philips SA713x tuner on this card rather than the normal Conexant these tuner that come with

^^^ well i know it but i wanted it for cable yaar..... ur tata sky remote wont work with Windows Media Center and actually you wont have any use for the card, its PVR software and bundles remote........

for what you say, i could have just bought a capture card man...

Honestly not much use of a remote for the comp except for starting/stopping recording or maybe for radio and pics.

Volume and channel change can always be done on your STB itself.

I guess you should have just gone for a Pinnacle PCTV Pro3. It's a really good card. No degrade in quality while recording even when it doesn't have it's own MPEG encoder.

what do you mean you don't have it there? where do you stay? you can get the reception anywhere.. upto the middle east..
