Suggestions for Laptop <40k

My friend wants to buy laptop. The price must be less than 40,000 including taxes.
Please suggest a good laptop anything within the range. 3k/4k more will also do.
Requirements are good processor(no Celerons), atleast 1GB RAM and 80/120GB hdd.

We checked dealers and found these:

Lenovo 3000G 400 36690/-(with tax)
Intel DualCore 1.73GHz, 512MB RAM, 80GB hdd, DVDRW, 14.1" TFT, WLAN, BT(bluetooth)

Compaq Presario V3425 TU 37990/-
DualCOre 1.73GHz, 120GB hdd, 15.4" TFT, WLAN


I also want to ask whether the performance of AMD based laptops are good like the desktop ones. Do they 've a problem of overheating in laptops?
