Default Ddr/ddr2??


im using MSIRS482M2-IL motherboard..does it support DDR2 RAM?? how do i find it out? theres nthng on the manufacturers site for this product?

Nup, it support only DDR400 mhz in single or dual channel upto 4GB.

THANKS!!! i have a 512 MB module..can i pair it with a 1 GB module(of the same freq)..or do i need to have both modules of the same capacity..

^^^ No need. For best compatibility, use RAM modules of same frequency and timings. Different sized RAM modules will work in single channel without probs.

If you wanna haf a Dual Channel setup then you'll need RAM of same frequency, timings and also capacity.

yeah but in most of the cases RAM modules of different timings can be made to work in dual channel by forcing the higher timing on both modules...

hell i use diff frequency modules in dual chhannel, and here its just timings we are talking about...

Ever thought why these companies give a Dual Channel modules for somewhat extra price compared to that of separated single modules?
