Default SATA and IDE

I have a 200GB SATA hd and a 250GB IDE hd.Both is having xp on it.But whenever I connect both the drives only the IDE harddrive is booting up.I want the SATA drive to be the Primary and the IDE to be the slave.I want xp to booted from SATA?...What connection do I have to do in my motherboard for that?...

go into the BIOS and change the boot order. Make the SATA drive as the first BOOT hard disk.

I have 2 SATA HDDs and 1 IDE installed and I boot from the IDE by making it the first BOOT disk in the BIOS. Computers normally recognise an IDE HDD as the first boot disk - that is - an IDE gets priority over a SATA HDD.

Only IDE HDDs have Masters and Slaves - all SATA HDD are Masters.

No jumper setting needed.
There is no jumper setting in SATA based hard disk .
In IDE, we use the jumper settings to distinguish Primary and Secondary OR Master and Slave Drives

The only user changeable jumper setting on some brands of SATA HDDs (like the Seagates) are to make them SATA I or SATA II. Hitachi do this via a software.
