Default ram compatibility


hi...right nw i've 512mb ddr2 ram wth 667mhz..want to upgrade retaining d one i've right now..as derz small price diff btwn 512mb n 1gb,want 2 go for 1gb..'ll it work if i place 1gb stick along wth my present 512mb ddr2..plz help wth dis....

it'll work as long as you use the same frequency(i.e. 667mhz) stick.If you use two different frequency RAMS then you may get frequent BSODS.

BTW.I suggest you either go for 2x512mb or 2x1gb if your motherboard supports dual channel RAM.

if you pair up the 1 GB with a 512MB one, you wont get your full performance. check up you mobo manual, it is mentioned fr sure
