Question weird copying speed with usb 2.0 :(

I plugged in my usb-cased laptop hdd into of the PCI usb2.0 card's slot.
now when im copying my data INTO the usb-hdd its copying damn fast (10 secs for 200MB)

BUT

when im copying data FROM it, its really slow (2 mins for the same file)
any clue why this is happening?? ?-(

--> wasnt sure if this to post this in s/w, QnA or h/w.. mods plz move this thread to the correct one

Uhm... Maybe when you write on the HD, Windows is able to cache almost the entire file; if so, while it seems it have finished copy, there's still data trasmitted to the HD for some times.
Are you sure you are using a proper USB Hi-Speed cable? A non compliant cable will cause a lot of retries / retransmission and thus lover the speed.

Bye!
