my friends system had win xp installed earlier, but now when i tried re installing, it says the mobo is not acpi compliant. the mobo is a Gigabyte 915 model and when i start the pc, BIOS says the mobo is ACPI compiant and it is turned on. any one has any idea? (btw, i flashed the bios to latest without any use.) nb. |

I tried it already but without any use. I even tried clearing all cmos data to by removing the battery and tried. Cmos got cleared but xp failed again.
any other suggetions? thanks sashi. nb |

dude gigabyte is acpi compliant better try a new xp cd with service pack2

Is there any option in the BIOS to set the ACPI version?If so set it to a low version like v1 or v2.
Else during installation try pressing F7 to bypass acpi checking. |
