my C drive gets halved automatically

heloo frnds..
i recently formatted my C drive recently..i installed windows xp professional on my system..also updated 2 SP2...surely i also instaled few other s/ws...d common ones like..offfice 2003,nero 7 n others
but after a few days i noticed dat my C drive got halved in space..i had made it of 7gb but it was den 3.59gb..
i thouhgt i had made mistake while formatting C..
so i formatted my whole stystem dis time..
dis time my made my C drive of 15 gb but den again after a few days i found it became of 7.59gb..
now its of dat size only

i tried 2 get my lost portion by restoring d system 2 d formatyted date..
but dat also didnt work...


so..any1 here knows y dis happened on my system..???

system restore takes space in drives .. but its not like half the drive space .. do check the size alocated for sys restore and recycle

Pagefile(pagefile.sys) too takes up some space normally around 1GB.

Also,if you have enabled hibernation,it takes up space equal to your RAM capacity.Scanned your PC for viruses yet??

no problem wid pagefil..
n also system restore has not taken space...i mean 7.5GB!!!!
actually..d space which got "out of" C drive is now shown as a "primary partition" n when i try 2 delete it it is not deleted ..
msg comes dat it maybe used as a primary partiton 4 some other operating system....
but after i restored my system 2 my formatting days..n den i found dat still my C drive is being shown only 7.59gb(out of 14.99gb)...den i did "undo d system restore"

after dat i cld delete d remaining 7.5GB..
now i hv made it a different drive..

so...frnds can u tell me y my Cdrive got divided into 2 parts....one as normal..n other unusable??

Dude please spare us from your SMS lingo and write full sentences.

My guess you tried installing some linux distro and selected the option "shrink existing windows partition" while installing.

i did not try to install any linux.
all i know is that after few days of formatting my system my C drive got divided into 2 parts...one usable and other unusable
i had updated to service pack 2, and installed common softwares only..like adobe 8, nero 7, office 2003, turbo c, and softwares which i used to have since many days...even before formatting my system...surely i had reinstalled them after formatting.

there was no experiment done by me or any1 else on my PC...

everything was usual..other than i found my C drive has divided into 2 after a few days...after a few days i mean that...i had noticed it after a few days.

hey..after dividing once..now its static on 7.59gb..maybe because there isn't space to divide more now...i mean more than half is used....earlier lesser than half of the total space were used

i think it is a pagefile problem.and also check the space allocated to recycle bin.

and how it can be that the drive gets halved after few days of being formatted.
why not the same day and time...???

i think plz del temp files, type %tmp% in run console and del all files and go to drive prop disk cleanup select all check boxes and clean up

i checked my temp files
no progress...

and i did not get how the temp files would divide my C drive into 2 parts?? i mean into 2 memory groups???
