Red face having problem with RAM


i have mercury 845gl board with 128sd ram installed on it
and now i have added 1gb ddr400mhz
ram is supported by my board but on xp setup this gives fetal error
and i also added 160 gb hdd & dvd writer but they work perfectly with 128 sd ram
give me proper solution

You mean you're using both the sdram and the ddr together?If so,remove the sdram and use only ddr.

Right you need to remove the SD RAM to make the DDR work..

Even still there should be a LONG set of Jumpers one would need to reset to make the DDR work...

Jumpers, brother, a long set or Jumpers u need to reset before u can use the DDR RAMs !!!

Hey read the motherboard manual.It should be elaborated there.Should be a set of some 8-10 jumpers just next to the ram slots.
Dig out the manual and do what's written there.

If possible please post the exact model number of the board... or else as said avobe my post, that refer to the manual of the board
