Urgent Final Clarifications required before purchase tomorrow

Urgent Final Clarifications required before purchase this weekend:

I have ordered Intel C2D E4400 and XFX 650i Ultra Motherboard for 10.8k... I will be making the other purchases at Richie Street, Chennai this weekend... Before that, I need to clarify a few doubts....

1. Planning for a Sony/Liteon SATA DVD Writer 18x - Is it worth going for SATA or is PATA enough?

2. Any performance comparisions between Logitech MX518 mouse and iBall Laser Precise mouse?

3. For Graphics card, my budget is around 8k - currently confused whether to go for DX10 card at all, since my current gaming needs (as foreseen for next one year at least) will not include it - not even planning to go for Vista right now... Will a 7600GT card do for now? Many reports seem to indicate 8600GT cards performance to be less than 7600GT card... And how much do ATI Radeon X1950, X2600 cards cost in and around Chennai?

4. For the Graphics card, will 512 MB RAM on the card give significant boost to performance over 256MB?

5. My budget for Cabinet + SMPS is 2.5 to 3k - Thinking about Zebronics Antibiotic or iBall Workhorse... Will decide after seeing in first person, and looking at other alternatives...
a. For the above config, what do you think would be the necessary SMPS, and is there any specific pin connections, etc that I should be looking for?
b. Will the included SMPS for the Antibiotic or the Workhorse be sufficient?
c. Is the single fan in iBall Workhorse enough?

6. For RAM, going for 2x1GB DDR2-667... Without going for high-end brands like Corsair, which brand is preferable for regular (but not intensive) gaming - Kingston, Transcend or Hynix?

7. How much do KIS and NOD32 cost?

1. i think sata is fine
2. logitech
3.dont go for ati, just get 8600gt or a 7900 if u can expand ur budget
4. depends on the graphics card, like 8600gt 512 is better than 256, but i dont know by how much, but yes more ram the better
5.go for zebby, i think the smps wud do fine for a 8600, im not sure though consult the technician

since you are getting a new system, get SATA.

logitech has always been known for good products. but i must admit i've never used iball products. i'll leave it to others to answer.

i'd say get 7600gt or even 7300gt is gaming is not ur criteria. when you feel like playing games invest in 8800series card, if its not ur urgent requirement. my philosophy is: buy what you can enjoy today. don't buy for tomorrow, its gonna be obsolete by tomorrow anyways!

it depends, on lower end cards 512mb is jus an overkill and you simply pay more for it. however in case of higher end cards on high end system, get one wid more ram otherwise it'll become the bottleneck.

i'll leave the cabinet selection part to you. but advise you to go in for an SMPS wid min. 600W power output.

kingston and transcend haf been working fine for me since years now.

relook at the processor.....the cost of E6750 will be less then 7500 Rs go for that....
if u really can't then consider E6550 @ 6.5k !!

2. No idea about iball Logitech is good
3. No idea about graphics card
4. No idea about graphics card
5. I would suggest you go for min 500 W SMPS. It doesnt matter if you have two fans. However make sure that the cabinet is large enough so that air can circulate
6. Go for Transcend
7. No idea about KIS or NOD 32
