Default CMOS error

Hi, Im having a triple boot with windows XP, slackware & BSD. Every time i start my comp, it halts before showing the bootloader (LILO), it says a CMOS error has occured & the BIOS settings are set to default, due to this I have to set the system time & USB keyboard support to "enabled" every time I start my comp..... Is this a problem coz im having three OS?

My motherboard is 845G Mercury, P4 2.4 Ghz

This has nothing to do with open source.
It's a hardware problem. The CMOS battery on your motherboard is gone. Just replace it.
