Default PSP query

Guys I am planning to buy PSP from Bangkok. How Good is PSP ? I want something portable that's why I am not in favour of XBOX 360 or PS3.Is PSP worth its price ?
Does it have its own inbuilt speakers or its same like ipod (you have to carry headphones ) ?
Is PSP's UMD stick writable ?

For portable gaming solution then this is the ultimate piece of hardware that you can buy.Great graphics,Wi-Fi capability,Web Browsing,Sleek & awesome display.

Is it worth the price? Hmmm...well personally I still feel it is tad over priced & I would rather spend that much dough on buying a PS2 rather than the PSP.But that's just me as I am not that much into the portable gaming scene. For me it's like a great gizmo for sometime & then Ho Hum OK later on.

On the sound front, the built-in front speaker can barely be called speakers as a Nokia N73 would easily out do it's sound output.Default headphones too ain't so charming either.Haven't tried it yet but the fontopias from Sony seem to do wonders as many of my friends who own it claim to be.

Last but not the least,NO you can't burn UMD's as there is no blank media or compatible burner out there. It's a properitary media from Sony.

BTW when you said UMD stick, did you mean the actual UMD or the Memory Stick?

Well hell yeah!!! U don't need to buy a UMD to play games.PSP has been cracked a long time ago & with a 4 GB memory stick u can put as many games as u can, even PS1 games too. Dude the PSP is one heck of a more than a gaming device. U can enjoy all stuff like movies, music, videos, pictures. It also hooked up with WI-FI & IR,so u can enjoy wireless gaming through it & also u can surf the net.

If u have ever experienced wireless gaming on NOKIA-Ngage, then u gotta see this.N-gage is nothing compare to this!!!

And also they are having a revised edition of PSP which is 33% lighter. So either stick with the good old one or wait till the new edition is out!
Later...

Depends upon the size.

The 1 GB memory Stick Pro Duo = 1980/-*
The 2 GB memory Stick Pro Duo = 3300/-*
The 4 GB memory Stick Pro Duo = 6360/-*

*The above prices have been taken from SONY SUMMER 2007 Catalogue.

Hell these prices are high.
I asked a local mobile shop owner for 2 GB MS pro duo = 1000/-
