no direct shutdown

hey in my computer i m unable 2 shutdown from the operating system

i mean when i click on the turn off button then the computer shows one message that now it is safe 2 turnoff the computer.then i have 2 shutdown manually


is there n e way so that i can automatically shutdown from that turn off button?


my compuet is intel p 4 2ghz,512 RAM, 80GB hdd, 845 original chipset MOBO
with WIN XP PRO wid service pack 2

which type of cabby do u have ? if its a at type , u cant .if its a atx type(or micro atx) u can(more likely).
right click on desktop > properties >display properties >screen saver > power > advanced tab >> select to shut down when u press the power button..
